Cal-i-for-ni-a

Here we are in Cali! Yeah, finally! We stayed at the Red Lion, which was only about a block away from the entrance to Disneyland. It was really nice - Zaida wasn't so excited about it initially. But, a couple of days later she was calling it "home". :)

We met up with Corey's aunt & uncle for dinner. We really only get to see them about once a year, but we love spending time with them when we can! (Thanks for making the trip up to see us, Kerry & Dick!)

Zaida in true Zaida fashion was not too stoked to sit down to a nice, quiet evening. We had to take shifts running around outside with her. Jungle Jenny (aka Uncle Johnny) got the brunt of the entertaining duty. This is them dancing & singing outside the restaurant. Thanks for being a good sport John!

After lots of singing & reading books she finally crapped out. I love how she is cradling her cute little face!

Happy Birthday Corey!

Today is Corey's birthday - yea! Last night we played a little "game" where we asked Corey some questions --- here are a few of his answers.
~ What do you want for your birthday? Besides world peace?! A trip to Rio, maybe an iPod, or if we were by the beach I would ask for a surfboard (it's going to be a disappointing birthday, I'm afraid)
~ If you could have 35 of one thing what would it be? 35 ski days, 35 $100 dollar bills, 35 weekend trips to different locales.
~ What was your favorite part of this past year? Graduation! Or our trip to Georgia.
~ What goals do you hope to complete this next year? "I'd like to get that d^&* CPA finished."
~ What is your favorite birthday memory? Last birthday dinner with his dad. Another birthday memory, when my parents were out of town on my 16th birthday. They had to sign some affidavit or something for the neighbor to take me to the DMV to get my license. So, had the car, license and no parental supervision.

Summer

Well, lots happened this summer. Here are a couple of the highlights (or lowlights, depending):

1 new addition ... don't get excited - it's just a patio! :)

Zaida's first day of school!

Can you believe it?! My little girl is in PRESCHOOL! This is her "silly face" - I tried to get her to do a cute smile. Of course, seems like the only thing that works lately is to refer to a princess. This time is backfired, because she just grabbed her magic wand and held it directly in front of her face.

After I dropped her off I talked to my brother & told him I am trying not to cry --- not only because I was sad to leave her (I was a little though), but because as soon as we pulled up to the house Zaida says "BYE MOM!" and tried to hop out of the car. After her big day we went to get her lunch and got her a "cheese-hamburger".

She ate almost the whole thing!

So my mother-in-law told me my blog was all wonky. Sure enough I checked it out and my template was completely erased for some weird reason. I've got a lot of pictures to post (of course), but not a lot of new news here from the homestead. I hope all are doing well. And I will try to get this thing all figured out soon.

Nampa, ID

It's been a while since I have blogged. I am seriously so BAD at this ---

My sis-in-law, nephew, Zaida and I went to Nampa, ID for the PBR event in April. For those of you who are unaware of the reference PBR is Professional Bull Riding. We went last year to Pueblo, CO event and this year we hit the Idaho tourney. Corey was just finishing up his last week of tax season & so we decided that us gals should get out of the house and let him be. I still haven't downloaded the pics (I am on the ball!) - but here are a couple photos we got with Renato Nunes (the current world leader).

I'll post more pics later - hopefully some where I don't look so fat! :)
