Happy Anniversary to Us!

Today is our 4th Anniversary!

Our wedding was the best ... we got married in San Diego. And that week was so fun! We had planned a few days of activities: golfing at Torrey Pines, surfing/beach day at LaJolla Shores, wedding at the San Diego temple, and then had our wedding luncheon that afternoon.

And then Corey and I were off to Maui!

It was so laid back & we had a lot of time to just hang out with our families & friends. I really don't think I would change a thing. Okay, well maybe my hair got a little flatter than normal with the humidity difference. And those inconsiderate Polynesian people who wouldn't move for us to get our pictures taken. But, other than that it was perfect!

For those of you that were there - thanks again for sharing that special time with us! And for those of you that didn't make it - we still love you! :)

Happy Mothers Day

I got this email forwarded from my mom & I thought it was cute ...

Mom Test

I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that. "Why?" my daughter asked.

"Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty, and probably has germs," I replied.

At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, "Momma, how do you know all this stuff? You are so smart."

I was thinking quickly. "All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mom Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mom."

We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information.

"OH...I get it!" she beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to be the dad."

''Exactly," I replied back with a big smile on my face.

Mac & cheese

I decided to capture one of Zaida's first attempts at feeding herself. We've let her try before, but this time I just let her at it. I love how she is holding her spoon through it all.

The video doesn't really show it that well, but she has cheese all over her face. By the time she was done she had shells stuck on her forehead, under her chin & of course all over her hands. We went up for a bath after a quick wipe down. When I took off her jammies I found that she had sat on macaroni & even had cheese on her back (under her jammies). I don't know how she pulled that off --- she's a tricky one!

New toy

Zaida got a new toy this week. She LOVES it. She will postpone her much needed naps to go cruise some more. She is getting very mobile as of late. Yesterday she was able to get herself off of the couch without any tumbles. And now with this cute little walker she can get just about anywhere.

Melanie --- I got it at WalMart, but I've also seen them at Toys R Us & Target. It's called the Fisher-Price Stride to Ride Lion.

Kickin' back

Watching ... you guessed it ... Backyardigan's! I love this series of pics. She's just so chill. Hanging on to her favorite blankie & just so calm!

I'm a big kid now?

Zaida loves her cousin Seth. Here they are giving each other five. Seth played his guitar for her & slid things across the table to her. She really enjoyed spending time with him (she tried to slide it back, which most of the time ended up on the floor). It'll be fun to see what new games they will come up with next time we get together.

Hope it was better than last year! Love you!

My mom's birthday was almost 2 weeks ago now ... I'm a little behind on this blogging thing. Our family went out to dinner at Market Street. Zaida woke up about halfway through the meal & was not a happy camper. (I found out the following day what made her so unhappy --- his first tooth! Poor little thing!)

Caught her in almost a full pouty face ... even her pout is cute! And, in the next photo note who has the grown up spoon and who has the baby spoon. :)
